Unlike conventional medicine which focuses on attempting to treat disease once it occurs, Dr. Heidi emphasizes improving your health in an effort to reduce the RISK of pain and illness before it starts.
People are beginning to recognize and seek the benefit of an alternative to traditional medicine to achieve and maintain optimal health.
Chiropractic care is a drug-free, non-surgical approach to healing and wellness. Chiropractic care restores health and prevents injury by improving the structural integrity of the body, primarily the spine.
Addressing the Root of the Problem
The nervous system serves as the body's wiring. If this wiring is inhibited, the signal does not reach the intended body part, and illness may result. Such interference can manifest anywhere along your spine. Pain in your arm or hand may actually be caused by a problem in your neck, where the nerves connecting to that hand originate. Dr. Heidi will examine the spine through a series of tests for interference, and remove them through controlled spinal adjustments—restoring proper flow and communication, and releasing pressure on the affected nerve to allow proper communication.
Our medical professionals employ a wide range of proven techniques for each individual case. Below, you’ll find a brief explanation of the popular chiropractic techniques we use at our practice.
Dr. Heidi is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic and incorporates the techniques she acquired there; she uses mostly manual manipulation when treating her patients but incorporates other techniques per her patients’ needs.
Did you know nearly every joint in the body can become subluxated (partially dislocated)? Aside from spinal adjustments, Dr. Heidi also adjusts extremities. Shoulders, knees, hands, feet, etc. can all be realigned. Extremity adjustments are often used on athletes and/or people with repetitive job positions.
In addition to chiropractic care, Dr. Heidi also employs other modalities in her treatment plan. These include ultrasound, electric muscle stimulation, intersegmental traction, home exercises, and strengthening plans.
